Our challenge was to craft a brand that embodies the rich history, breathtaking landscapes, and adventurous spirit of Queenstown. The name needed to evoke a sense of place, storytelling, and connection to the land while seamlessly integrating with the region’s deep gold rush heritage.
Inspired by the legendary Skippers Canyon and its first gold discoverer, Malcolm Duncan, we developed the name Skippers, a nod to the region’s pioneering past and enduring allure. Our design approach mirrored this legacy, drawing from the canyon’s dramatic landscapes. The brand’s colour palette reflects the gold rush era, schist rock formations, and tussock-covered hills, while the custom typeface captures the layered geology and flowing contours of Skippers Canyon. Every detail was crafted to tell a visual story, connecting visitors to the land’s rich history
The Result – Skippers isn’t just a brand, it’s an experience that honours Queenstown’s past while embracing the spirit of adventure. It is a bold and evocative identity, resonating with both locals and travellers, inviting them to immerse themselves in the history and beauty of Skippers Canyon. Whether enjoying a meal or setting off on an outdoor journey, Skippers offers a sense of place and a connection to Queenstown’s legendary landscapes.
